In continuity with what has already been achieved for the previous educational year, in which 60 places were reserved through the agreement with private early childhood education services, the Municipality of Messina continues on the path of expanding and strengthening the offer of services aimed at families and children. A new Public Notice is being published on the institutional website of the Municipality of Messina aimed at managers of private early childhood education services, aimed at acquiring expressions of interest in the stipulation of agreements for the reservation of child places in nurseries and educational facilities present in the municipal area, for the 2026/2027 educational year.
The initiative was born from the desire of the municipal administration to strengthen and expand the network of services aimed at children in the age range between 3 and 36 months, increasing the possibilities of access for families and favoring, in particular, those who find themselves in conditions of economic and/or social hardship. The use of regularly authorized private structures will in fact make it possible to make additional places available and to contribute to the overall strengthening of the city’s educational offer, in continuity with the experience already started in the previous educational year with the reserve of 60 places.
The intervention is part of the program to strengthen educational services for children envisaged by the resources allocated to the Municipalities and follows the Municipal Council Resolution no. 535 of 13 August 2026, with which the municipal administration identified the expansion of the offer through collaboration with private educational services among the priorities for intervention. Managers of nurseries and early childhood educational services aimed at children aged 3 to 36 months, with structures located in the Municipality of Messina and in possession of the authorizations required by current legislation, as well as the required structural, organizational and administrative requirements, can participate. The interested structures must indicate, in the expression of interest, among other required elements, the number of places available and the cost of the monthly fee, as well as declaring that they meet the requirements established by the law.
The reservation of places provides for the coverage of the cost of the service to be paid in full by the Municipality, for an amount of 7,668 euros. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 12.00 on 4 September 2026, according to the methods indicated in the Public Notice.
