Fear in the Cosentino. A hiker was taken ill in a wooded area of Orsomarso and was rescued and transported by helicopter to a private healthcare facility in Belvedere Marittimo. The man was part of a group working along the path that leads from the Argentino River Valley to the Piani di Masistro, in the Pollino National Park. After seeing him collapse on the ground, his companions had to reach an area covered by telephone signal to ask for help. On site were the firefighters of the Scalea detachment, the 118 personnel, a team from the Pollino garrison of Calabria’s Alpine and Speleological Rescue and volunteers from the civil protection association Falchi del Pollino.
