Almost 3 million allocated for 2024, plus 460 thousand euros deriving from the savings of the previous program carried out by the social territorial areas. The sum probably does not balance the environmental impact of gas and oil extraction, but all that remains is to be satisfied: the Region is ready to translate the hydrocarbon royalties into two social cohesion projects. And – the social card having been discarded because «the overall share due to the Region is such as not to allow its activation» – the new memorandum of understanding with the Ministries of the Environment and Economy approved by the Occhiuto Council focuses on the projects “One step further” and “Calabria keeps you company”, from which «repercussions on the regional economic fabric are also expected». From Rome, following the evaluations carried out on the two proposals, a favorable opinion was received regarding the use of the resources of the 2024 Fund.
The first project, already operational, is aimed at women with cancer patients or women with care burdens relating to cancer family members who are fiscally dependent on the family unit, provided they have an ISEE of less than 35 thousand euros.
