Jasmine Paolini wins the Italian derby against Lucrezia Stefanini, valid for the second round of the 2026 US Open. The Tuscan tennis player, seeded number 19, won with a score of 6-4 6-1 in an hour and 16 minutes of play, gaining a place in the third round at Flushing Meadows.
In the next match Paolini will face the winner of the challenge between Sorana Cirstea and Diane Parry.
However, Stefanini’s excellent journey in New York, number 119 in the WTA ranking, is interrupted. The Italian tennis player made her debut in the main draw by eliminating Dayana Yastremska, after overcoming Ayca Aksu, Madison Brengle and Julieta Pareja in the qualifiers.
