Thus the president of the Calabria Region and national deputy secretary, Roberto Occhiuto, speaking at the presentation of Fabio Roscioli’s candidacy in the by-elections of Reggio Calabria.
“With mercenaries and traitors, battles are not won”
«A left that tries to win only because Vannacci steals the group leader in the regional council from the center-right is not a left that can run to govern Reggio or Calabria», added Occhiuto. «To those who think that battles can be won using mercenaries and traitors, we say that battles cannot be won with mercenaries and traitors. And when, after their defeat, the mercenaries and traitors come to us bowing, as they did before, we will say that there is no longer any place in this majority”, underlined Occhiuto.
The attack on populists: “They don’t have an idea for the growth of the territory, they don’t indicate solutions”
«Populism does not indicate solutions. Those who speak to the gut of citizens – said Occhiuto – do so to exasperate the problems, to increase social anger, but do not indicate solutions. Look at these populists, they don’t have an idea for the growth of the territory, for economic policy. We believe, however, that to make the territory grow we must have the ability, the vision, to create local development, as we have tried to do here in Reggio Calabria.”
