“My summer” was supposed to be a calendar full of activities dedicated to disabled children and young people and their families but, apparently, expectations were disappointed. Annamaria Lucchino, president of the “Beyond autism Catanzaro Odv” association, points the finger at what had been planned and then not done: “In these summer months many parents have had to invent autonomous initiatives to be able to go to work”, claiming difficulties that “My summer” could have alleviated. «We are aware – he continues – that every administrative procedure requires technical and bureaucratic time. The ranking of the admitted entities was published on 14 August and, to date, no one has yet been called to sign the agreement and start the activities which, as per the announcement, must end by 30 September”. For the president «a measure designed for the summer cannot be transformed into “My Christmas”. Families need services when they are needed, not months later, especially when substantial funds are allocated by the Region.”
