Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner bring with them a “proposal to end the war” between Russia and Ukraine. Donald Trump said it, recalling that he had already resolved “eight wars”. The president’s two envoys will first be in Russia, then in Ukraine.

«Putin and Zelensky hate each other»

“We have an idea for peace between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said, underlining that Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky hate each other. The president then spoke of the numerous deaths on both sides. «Witkoff and Kushner are two great negotiators. We’ll see if we can do something,” he added. And on the Atlantic Alliance front: «I speak with Putin. I know him very well. Putin has no intention of attacking NATO territories.”

The plan for the post-war period in the Middle East

At the same time, the Trump administration is working on a plan for the post-war Middle East. The initiative is still in its initial stages and aims to contain Iran and extend the Abraham Accords to normalize Israel’s relations with the countries in the area. Axios reports this, citing some sources, according to which two events are looming over post-war planning: the elections in Israel in October and the midterms in the United States.
