The extraordinary controls of the territory ordered by the Police Commissioner of Crotone, Renato Panvino, lead to a new intervention in the fight against irregular immigration. Yesterday morning, the State Police carried out the repatriation of a 39-year-old non-EU citizen, of Indian origins, no longer in compliance with the rules on residence in Italy.
The operation was born from a detailed investigative activity conducted by the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters. The man, in possession of a regular passport, had his application to convert his residence permit from seasonal work to subordinate work rejected: the checks in fact highlighted serious deficiencies in the documentation presented and the failure to complete the procedural steps required by law.
Once the irregularity of the position on the national territory was ascertained, the expulsion decree signed by the prefect of Crotone was issued against the 39-year-old. State police officers escorted the man to Rome Fiumicino airport, from where he was boarded on a flight to his country of origin. He has also been formally banned from re-entering Italy and the entire Schengen area for the next 3 years.
The intervention is part of a broader and constant monitoring action promoted by the Pythagorean Police Headquarters. In fact, the Immigration Office continues its verification activities on the regularity of non-EU citizens throughout the province, working in synergy with the various local institutions to protect urban safety and guarantee full respect for legality.
