Bags of waste are continually abandoned in front of the Basilica of Sant’Antonio. A disaster that occurred throughout the summer and which no one can remedy. The rector of the Sanctuary of the Rogationists, Father Mario Magro, exasperated, asks for cameras to be installed to identify those responsible. “It is not tolerable – he says – that an important place for the city, a destination for the faithful and tourists, is transformed into a landfill. I appeal to the institutions to take action to put an end to this situation of absolute incivility”.
The bags, as ascertained several times, contain bags of used clothing which are brought and left in front of the entrance, probably a gesture of donation.
“This is not charity – concludes Father Mario – but the testimony of gestures of incivility that the city is full of. Often these are old, dirty and unusable clothes that have nothing to do with solidarity. We cannot make our staff available to continuously clean what others abandon without any respect for a sacred place”. An appeal was made to the mayor Federico Basile to find a definitive solution.
