He rewrote the lyrics of the song “Generale” by Francesco De Gregori, dedicating it, ironically, to General Roberto Vannacci. A satirical parody published on his social channels by the mayor of Syracuse, Francesco Italia, an exponent of Action.
The text was written by the mayor who addressed the leader Vannacci and the political movement Futuro Nazionale. «General, go on television – we read in a verse written by Italia who is regional commissioner of Action and among the founders of the Calenda party – for someone still looking for a master. Don’t ask questions – don’t even think about it! – you go straight to the ballot box without thinking. That gay people shouldn’t be on TV anymore, that with racism you can excel. And feminicide does not exist, it must be eliminated.” Current issues that see the National Future movement intervene every day. «Every day we witness increasingly shocking statements – says Italia, explaining its initiative – it is serious that politics remains silent, for example on the abolition of the crime of femicide, after the news reports disturbing episodes on a weekly basis. With parody – underlines the mayor of Syracuse – I express my concern in an ironic way and from the feedback I’m getting I’m not the only one who thinks this way. We cannot remain silent but we must make our voice heard to stem a narrative that sometimes seems one-sided.”
