The Financiers of the Naval Station of the Guardia di Finanza of Vibo Valentia, as part of the activities to combat tax evasion linked to local taxes, arranged in the regional territory by the Calabria Air and Naval Department, have completed a detailed investigative activity in the tourism/seaside sector, which involved a resort operating along the Tyrrhenian coast.

The service made it possible to ascertain serious non-compliance regarding IMU and state concession fees for undeclared and unpaid annuities. The inspection activity was developed through mixed investigation techniques – documentary, cadastral and operational in the field – carried out through the cross-use of open sources, databases in use by the Corps and the analysis of accounting and concession documentation.

The carrying out of inspections and observation services carried out on the coast, also using the naval and air vehicles supplied, together with the application of direct presumptive estimation methodologies, in the absence of reliable declarations by the subjects inspected, made it possible to identify undeclared or declared incongruously, according to the principle of effective ability to pay.

The activity was carried out in relation to an economic operator operating under state concession in the Province of Cosenza, in the municipality of Amantea, where it was possible to recover through taxation a total amount exceeding 160,000 euros, including taxes due, penalties and interest, which will be imposed by the same local authority.
The intervention is configured as a concrete protection of the revenues of the State and local authorities and contributes to re-establishing the conditions of fair competition between commercial operators in the maritime state property and in the market of tourist port services.
