Luna Rossa wins the final match race against Emirates Team New Zealand and thus wins the second preliminary America’s Cup regatta in the waters of the Gulf of Naples, as already happened in Cagliari in May. The Italian AC40 beats the Kiwis again after a flawless race. Boats paired in the first part of the race, then Luna Rossa managed to take a lead which it maintained until the final finish line.
And there was an ovation on the Naples seafront when Luna Rossa crossed the finish line first, winning the preliminary phase of the 38th America’s Cup against Emirates Team New Zealand. The thousands of people who watched the races from the Race Village, watching directly at the race course or through the giant screens, thus celebrated the victory of the Italian team. Near the stage, located in the final part of the Village on the Piazza della Repubblica side, a choir for Luna Rossa also started, accompanied by a waving of red and white flags. Even in the press room, Luna Rossa’s victory was welcomed with applause.
