Three days after the TAR’s ruling on the appeal relating to the May administrative elections, Carmelo Torre intervenes with a long post on Facebook and opens a reflection on the future of the administration led by mayor Melangela Scolaro. The speaker is the “Barcelona Pozzo di Gotto in Comune” movement, which supported Scolaro’s candidacy and is now claiming its political weight in the coalition. Torre reiterates his support for the mayor and recalls the work done for the presentation of the list, underlining compliance with the rules in collecting subscriptions. Hence the hope that the will of the voters will be respected, whatever the outcome of the trial.
The most political passage, however, concerns the balance of the majority. Torre claims that, in the almost five months since taking office, the path has not been entirely linear and considers the representation of the movement in the council to be “undersized” compared to the contribution made to the electoral victory. A claim accompanied by the desire to continue the common project, but asking for recognition of the weight of the different components.
