Over 7.5 kilos of drugs and around 30 thousand euros in cash were seized by the State Police in Messina during an operation that led to the arrest of two brothers from Messina. The drug checks affected the Camaro district and the city center. The Flying Squad officers searched properties attributable to the two young people. In one of the apartments they found approximately 4.5 kilos of hashish, 3 kilos of marijuana and 50 grams of cocaine, partly divided into blocks and partly kept in glass containers. The drugs were hidden in two rooms of the building, shared with some university students. The police also found packaging material and around 30 thousand euros in banknotes of various denominations, some of which were stored in vacuum-packed envelopes. The money is considered likely proceeds of criminal activity.
The kidnapping
The seized material was entrusted to the Scientific Police for technical investigations. The two brothers were arrested and taken to prison at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Messina.
