A serious road accident occurred along the Strada Statale 106 “Jonica”, at km 204.400, in the municipal area of Cropani, in the province of Catanzaro. The outcome of the accident is dramatic: one person lost his life.
According to initial reconstructions, the impact – a rear-end collision which occurred in the direction of Taranto – involved a car and an electric bicycle. The cyclist on board the pedal-assisted bicycle had gone shopping in a nearby supermarket when the collision with the car occurred for reasons still under investigation.
The health workers from SUEM 118 promptly intervened on site and unfortunately could not help but note the death of the occupant of the two-wheeled vehicle, Anas and the carabinieri of the Sellia Marina Company to investigate the case and manage traffic. Currently the lane towards Taranto is temporarily closed. There is alternating one-way traffic.
