The healthcare specialization schools of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro are awarded by the ALS INDEX SSM2026. The results of the questionnaire administered to detect the satisfaction of all doctors in specialist training with the schools’ training program have been published. The ALS-Index aims to objectively measure the appeal and the educational, organizational and working quality of the individual Specialization Schools, allowing comparison both between branches of the same branch and between different disciplines. The strength of the survey lies in the analysis of the data collected on the basis of the anonymous national questionnaires administered by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) to postgraduates via the Cineca platform.
The Magna Græcia University of Catanzaro is placed at the top of the national rankings of six health area specialization schools: Pharmacology (ALS-Index score: 92.7), Digestive System Diseases (ALS-Index score: 90.0), Physical and rehabilitation medicine/physiatry (ALS-Index score: 86.8), Internal medicine (Score ALS-Index: 67.1), Otolaryngology (ALS-Index Score: 95.7), Psychiatry (ALS-Index Score: 84.2).

The placement of other schools which remain at the top of the rankings is also good, demonstrating the quality of the training offer in the healthcare area at a national level. The University of Catanzaro confirms itself as a reference center for quality of training also thanks to the location of classrooms, laboratories and polyclinic within the Campus, accelerating the integration between ward and laboratory activities. The quality of teaching in line with the highest national standards was rewarded. Respect for the organization of work, rigorous management of the training network and timetable guarantees the sustainability and protection of the health of doctors in training. Integration of research: the full involvement of young doctors in scientific activities and seminars as part of the professional growth path was also rewarded.

For this year, 32 schools of specialization in the health sector have been accredited to the Magna Graecia University by decree of the Ministry of University and Research: Neurology, Internal Medicine, Diseases of the Cardiovascular System, Anesthesia, Resuscitation, Intensive and Pain Therapy, Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology, Cardiac Surgery, Audiology and Phoniatrics, Clinical Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology and Virology, Radiodiagnostics, Endocrinology and metabolic diseases, Nutrition science, Medical oncology, Dermatology and venereology, Respiratory system diseases, Infectious and tropical diseases, Paediatrics, General surgery, Otolaryngology, Hygiene and preventive medicine, Physical and rehabilitation medicine, Medical genetics, Forensic medicine, Urology, Gynecology and obstetrics, Nephrology, Ophthalmology, Geriatrics, Diseases of the digestive system, Medicine and Palliative Care. The specialization school in Orthopedics and traumatology is also provisionally accredited.
Furthermore, the University of Catanzaro collaborates with two other specialization schools located at other universities, whose accreditation was also obtained thanks to the decisive contribution of the skills of UMG teachers: the School of Specialization in Neurosurgery (UMG – UNICAL, based at UNICAL) and the School of Specialization in Thoracic Surgery (UMG – ENNA KORE, based at UNIKORE).
