The 20-year sentence for Claudio Costantino becomes definitive in the trial for the double murder that occurred on 2 January 2022 in Messina near his home. This brings to a close the judicial process for the shooting that took place in via Eduardo Morabito, a small street in Camaro S. Luigi, in which 31-year-old Giovanni Portugal was killed, having died in the street after being hit by some bullets, and 35-year-old Giuseppe Cannavò was seriously injured and died after a few days of agony in hospital.
The first criminal section of the Supreme Court, with a verdict announced a few minutes ago, has in fact rejected the appeal presented by Costantino’s lawyers, Prof. Carlo Taormina and the lawyer Filippo Pagano, as the deputy attorney general had requested for the prosecution.
Even in the Supreme Court, as in the other levels of judgement, the civil parties were represented by the lawyers Cinzia Panebianco and Angela Martelli.
