The surrender in the face of the evidence of the numbers that gave Forza Italia supporter Sergio Roscioli a seat in parliament. Numbers in which to read the disengagement of someone in the team, but also the elements to be exploited to face the next electoral challenges. Are the Dems starting to do the math at home? The regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Nicola Irto recognizes: «The truth is evident: we lost the by-elections in the city of Reggio, where the centre-right recently won the municipal elections and there was also some disengagement on our side». Of course the turnout was really low, but there is some positive data. «Despite the enormous abstentionism and the position of power of the centre-right, the centre-left was ahead in many municipalities of the province called to vote with victory in large centers such as Siderno, Locri, Roccella, Gioiosa, Bovalino and Villa San Giovanni». A sign that “the choice of candidate Benedetto, whom I thank, was spot on: it fully confirmed his territorial roots and personal history”. The construction of the path begins from these data: «We must continue to work with the other parties because we must be the credible alternative in the coming challenges».
