The body of a child was recovered in the rubble of his home, hit during the night by a missile and drone attack, in the town of Vyshgorod, a few kilometers from Kiev. Three people were pulled out alive: among these, a child who suffered serious head trauma, a man with shrapnel wounds to his head and a woman with leg injuries.
All three were transported to hospital. The head of the Kiev regional state administration, Timur Tkachenko, reported this on Telegram.
The Russian attacks on Kiev also killed one woman and injured four other people. This was announced by the local military administration. During the night, AFP journalists had heard about ten explosions in the Ukrainian capital, an almost daily target of attacks by Moscow. Last night, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that a rare meeting between the German and Russian foreign ministers on Saturday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York showed that Russia was “not at all interested in serious negotiations” over Ukraine, more than four and a half years after the Russian offensive began.
During the night, the Russian armed forces launched an attack on Kiev with ballistic missiles. Numerous explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital. In some areas of the city there were electricity cuts. The Ukrainian Air Force raised the alert due to the arrival of ballistic missiles on the city and anti-aircraft fire went into action. The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, said on Telegram that emergency services were responding to a fire in a residential area of the Sviatoshynskyi district. The extent of the damage is not yet clear.
