Devastating Messina. How Torrisi wants it

Alfio Torrisi often says devastating, appealing to the Messina he would like to see on the pitch, exactly like the one who won Vittoria, winning 2-0, and taking the solitary top spot in the championship. On the fifth day, the Giallorossi are first with 13 points and now they want to hold on to a record that is worth much more than just a position in the standings.
Sarao strikes again, this time from the spot, while Kragl continues to make the difference with his free kicks, with a left foot that has never been seen in this category. But be careful if you think that everything is easy, because in Eccellenza there are no quiet Sundays and Messina is the team to beat, therefore the one against which everyone wants to play the classic “match of life”. The response so far has been that of a team that seems to have entered the category with the right mentality, but the road is still long and the pursuers are not standing by. Niscemi remains in the wake after the victory in Augusta, Nebros impacts Mazzarrone and Acireale returns to make its presence felt with a top five against Atletico Viagrande.
The Acr remains focused, strengthened by the victories that give confidence, by the certainties that are maturing from week to week. Torrisi has always asked for “mentality”, because the qualities of his team cannot be discussed. And important responses in this direction came from Vittoria. This is demonstrated by the coach’s celebration at the end of the match, more “flashy” and passionate than usual. Because after two goals in the championship and the cup, he perhaps feared a drop in his attention span. None of this, not even from those who took over. Like Bonanno who showed an impressive hunger for goals, or La Spada finally recovered from injury, waiting for Bollino and Sbuttoni who are still out of the squad.
In the meantime, the club will have to deal with the stadium issue. The Giallorossi club reiterated its desire to return to playing its home matches at the “Celeste”, requesting the convening of the specific Commission for the green light for the use of the facility. The OK remains linked to the necessary interventions in the Curva Sud, so it is not certain that the next match with Lenzio (3.30 pm) will not be played again at “Franco Scoglio”. In the meantime, the weekly training sessions will be carried out partly at the “Marullo”, to allow the repair of the damaged changing room in via Oreto. Question marks related to management still hang over the historic basin: the confrontation between Messina’s ownership and the municipal administration has brought to the center an issue that has been dragging on for years, such as the lack of a stable home and adequate facilities for training and working. The team, however, cannot afford distractions: the championship comes first of all, but the club’s desires also look beyond, they need facilities and organization that live up to their ambitions. Dialogue is apparently possible, but now facts are needed. And a management that reconciles the needs of society with those of the entire city sports movement. A concession from the “Celeste”, even limited to 12 months, could be a solution. But not necessarily the only one.
