Noise barriers and new signs by the end of October on provincial road 241, near the Torano Scalo primary school. The leader of the Civil Rights Movement, Franco Corbelli, announced this in a note, reporting a phone call received from the president of the Province of Cosenza, Biagio Faragalli.
The intervention follows Corbelli’s appeals, the first dating back to 23 June, after reports from some parents concerned about the speed of vehicles along the road adjacent to the school, frequented by around fifty children.
Barriers and signs instead of speed bumps
According to what Corbelli reports, Faragalli had explained that it is not possible to install the speed bumps initially requested because the stretch is considered a preferential route for emergency and emergency vehicles. We will therefore proceed with noise barriers and adequate signage. Corbelli thanks the president of the Province and reiterates the objective: to reduce the speed of vehicles near the building and protect children, school staff and pedestrians. «I am satisfied that we are proceeding, predictably by the end of October, because the school has reopened a month now and the risk situation still persists».
