She would have been attacked and raped by a work colleague: this is the reconstruction provided by a young woman who reported the episode in July 2024, when she worked in a location in the Tyrrhenian area of Cosenza.
The matter was at the center of the evidentiary incident which ended at the Court of Paola before the investigating judge Maria Grazia Bellomusto. The girl, assisted by the lawyer Erica Pranno of the Court of Cosenza, was heard in protected mode during a hearing that lasted approximately three hours.
The expertise on the ability to testify
The examination of the injured person was subordinated by the prosecutor of the Paola Prosecutor’s Office, Chiara Pezone, to a medical-psychiatric assessment entrusted to the expert Antonio Ruffolo. The assessment attested to the young woman’s full ability to testify, while at the same time highlighting a condition of particular vulnerability and emotional fragility.
The audition in a separate room
To guarantee the protection of the young woman, the hearing took place in a separate room and with the help of the psychologist and psychotherapist Catia Ferraro. The parties, including the suspect – defended by the lawyer Elena Maria Calabretta of the Paola Court – followed the act via audio-video connection.
The documents return to the Prosecutor’s Office
At the end of the evidentiary incident, the investigating judge returned the files to the Paola Public Prosecutor’s Office for the determinations of jurisdiction regarding the possibility of formulating the accusation.
