“President Trump has successfully negotiated another major deal to supply the global market with massive amounts of diesel and lower prices.”

This is how a White House spokesperson commented to Repubblica on Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s criticism of the agreement reached by the US president with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine has run out of missiles for its Patriot defense system

The UK is sending more long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Kiev to target Russian military operations and curb Moscow’s attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. Bloomberg reports. Yesterday British Prime Minister Andy Burnham received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Downing Street, reiterating London’s support for him in a moment of difficulty and announcing an acceleration in military supplies to the Kingdom.

Ukraine has run out of missiles for the US-made Patriot air defense system, making it more vulnerable to Russian ballistic missile attacks, a source familiar with the situation told CNN. For months, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly warned that Ukraine was running out of U.S.-made Patriot interceptor missiles, which are one of the few defensive weapons capable of shooting down a ballistic missile.

Meanwhile, Starshield in Motion, the military version of the American Starlink satellite communication system, has started working again. Sources from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported this to Ukrainska Pravda. “As of now, Starshield’s work has resumed and continues (to improve), we are recording this based on unit reports,” the sources said adding that “the Ministry of Defense is also continuing to communicate to clarify all the reasons and circumstances of yesterday’s restrictions.”

Zelensky: “Ukraine will resume attacks on Russian refineries”

Ukraine will “resume attacks on Russian oil refineries”. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with the Financial Times, expressing his anger at the “dangerous” disruption of intelligence sharing by the United States, as well as the simultaneous weakening of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service. “The stop (on attacks on refineries) is over. We are done,” Zelensky told the Financial Times.

No truce in Ukraine, much less energy, despite Trump’s announcements. And Zelensky appears increasingly worried by the tycoon’s rapprochement with Putin over the diesel agreement for which he seems willing to deny Kiev the intelligence information vital to its air defense. “This is not the right side of the story,” Zelensky says, saying he feels “betrayed.” Also suspect are the limitations to the Starlink military system which during the night would have compromised the ability to defend itself from Moscow’s raids: civilian buildings in Kiev and Lutsk were hit with deaths and injuries. ‘It’s a big mistake, people will die,’ Zelensky warned again.

Musk: “Zelensky must resign”

“This massacre will continue. It’s time for Zelensky to go.” Elon Musk writes it on X. The founder of SpaceX believes that the time has come for the Ukrainian leader to resign, in a context of growing tensions linked to the war and the use of the Starlink service. Musk’s statement comes in response to a post on X commenting on an interview Zelensky gave to British journalist Piers Morgan. The post suggested that his main concern was the end of the war and the holding of the presidential elections. Musk responded directly: “This massacre will continue. It’s time for Zelensky to go.”
