Mourning in the Messina music scene. Tiziano Giunta, a bassist from Messina active for over thirty years on the stages of the city and Sicily, died suddenly at the age of 55.
From the Eighties to the Underzone
Giunta was already playing in Messina in the 1980s. He was part of bands known on the independent circuit, such as The Out Key Hole, a psychedelic garage project, and Wolframio. In 2016 he created Underzone together with Stefano Restivo, with Francesco Zagami on synthesizers: in the band, which landed on the Rocketman Records label, he played bass.
The condolences of the musical community
Within a few hours the news reached musicians, bandmates and fans who had met him on stage and off. Friends remember above all his smile and availability towards anyone who shared his passion. He lived in Messina, where he leaves his wife and two children.
