Ten million euros to support Calabrian hauliers struggling with expensive fuel. The Calabria Region has published the public notice which provides for non-repayable contributions to offset part of the increased costs incurred by companies in the sector during 2026. This was announced by the Councilor for Labour, Economic Development and Tourism of the Calabria Region, Giovanni Calabrese.

The measure is part of a larger intervention worth 15 million euros, of which 10 million are intended for road transport and 5 million for the agricultural sector. Companies that carry out road freight transport activities, with Ateco code 49.41.00, with registered office or operational unit in Calabria will be able to benefit from the relief.

«We announced it together with president Roberto Occhiuto – continues Calabrese – after having collected the concerns of operators in the sector. Today that commitment translates into a concrete measure: after the interventions to support the agricultural sector, road haulage companies will also be able to benefit from the compensation for the cost of fuel, referring to consumption tracked until 30 September, according to the methods set out in the notice. This is important support for a strategic sector for the regional economy, which in recent years has had to face rising costs and the consequences of the international crisis.”

The regional councilor also highlights the work that made it possible to achieve this result: «Special thanks go to the Economic Development Department and Fincalabra, who ensured important technical and administrative support, activating emergency procedures to allow the rapid publication of the notice. A complex activity that required competence, a sense of responsibility and effective coordination between all the structures involved. Behind this result there is the work of managers, officials and staff who worked with great commitment, aware of the difficulties experienced by companies in the sector and of the need to provide answers quickly”.

The contribution will be calculated on the basis of the actual consumption of petrol, diesel, LPG, methane and LNG incurred between March and September 2026. For each month and for each type of fuel, 60% of the increase in the average price will be recognized compared to the reference value of the first two months of the year. The maximum amount that can be granted is 300 thousand euros per company, in compliance with European legislation on “de minimis” aid. The support will be recognized to companies for which the calculated contribution is greater than 500 euros.

Applications can be submitted starting from 10 am on 4 November 2026, through the online platform made available by Fincalabra, which will also take care of the investigation and disbursement of the contributions. The procedure will be at the counter, according to the chronological order of presentation of the requests, until the available resources are exhausted.
