Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini conquer Tokyo and reach ten titles together. The Italians won the “Toray Pan Pacific Open”, the WTA 500 tournament on the hard court of the Ariake Coliseum, overcoming the Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and the Brazilian Luisa Stefani in the final with a clear 6-2, 6-2 in exactly one hour.
It was the first final reached by an all-Italian couple in the Japanese tournament. Errani and Paolini, number 15 and number 30 respectively in the doubles ranking, completed the course by beating two opponents at the top of the specialty: Dabrowski is fourth, Stefani third. The success interrupts the series of sixteen consecutive victories of the rivals and enriches a week already marked by the qualification for the WTA Finals. This brings another milestone for the Italian couple: double figures in trophies won together.
