During an ordinary territorial control service, the Carabinieri of the Crotone Radiomobile Section brought to light a cleverly concealed firearm. The soldiers, engaged in prevention and surveillance activities, became suspicious of the anomalous presence of a camouflage cloth stuck inside a pipe located in a peripheral area.
The intuition proved to be well founded. The gun, complete with six unexploded shots and with the serial number completely abraded, appears in all likelihood intended for illicit activities. The weapon was immediately seized and will be subjected to further technical investigations to reconstruct its origin and possible use in criminal acts.
