“Many controversies have been raised – often in an instrumental way – on the realization of the cycle paths in the south of Catanzaro. But today, while the works approach the completion, we are convinced that the facts will speak more than any criticism. Time will give us reason, because we are building an infrastructure that will change the life of the city for the better”. The mayor of Catanzaro, Nicola Fiorita, wrote it on social media.

“Urban cycle paths are the heart of sustainable and integrated mobility that we want to give to Catanzaro: a new way of moving safely, autonomy and health, respecting the environment. Thanks to 3 million and 200 thousand euros of PNRR funds, 12 kilometers of slopes will be made by the end of the year that will connect neighborhoods, services and transport nodes, favoring the bike -meter -meter interchange”.

Here are the new strokes coming:

Via Conti Falluc

Viale Isonzo

Pistoia

Santa Maria (from the bridge to Viale Isonzo)

Via Basilicata (from Pistoia to Corvo)

Corvo (up to the Le Fornaci Shopping Center)

“An absolute novelty – continued Fiorita – will be the closed ring track in via Calabria, in the Corvo district: the first bike park in Southern Italy. A unique space designed for fans, young cyclists and children, where to devote themselves to the bike in a safe and equipped place.

Not only slopes: the project also intervenes on the cycle-pedestrian roads, with the new roundabout in via Calabria, safer crossings, renewed signs and bollards to guarantee ordered and functional circulation.

This is not just a public work: it is a signal of urban regeneration, a way to revive the suburbs and give new life to spaces left for too long abandoned. It is an investment in the health, environment and quality of life of all.

Catanzaro deserves to be modern, green and projected to the future. With these cycle paths, we take a concrete step in that direction “.
