The CEO of Anas (FS Italian group) Claudio Andrea Gemme, appointed government commissioner for the modernization of the lots included in the stretch between Cosenza and Altilia of the A2 motorway “Mediterranean motorway”, is already working to accelerate the project.
The intervention provides for an investment of about 3 billion euros out of 5 lots of the section between Cosenza and Altilia about 27 km long and consists in the creation of a variant to the current Ruiz and spoiled viaducts with the same characteristics of the already modernized sections of the A2 motorway.
The track between Cosenza and Altilia is, in fact, characterized by high slopes and narrow curves, where maintenance interventions have already been started on floors, safety barriers and viaducts.
Anas has been in progress for some time an extraordinary maintenance plan to redevelop the stretch with new floors, protection barriers and viaducts.
The modernization of the track will guarantee greater high safety and comfort standards.
“The completion of the A2″ Mediterranean motorway ” – said the CEO of Anas Claudio Andrea Geme – is of fundamental importance for the country. It is necessary to ensure simplified procedures for the approval of the projects and accelerate the lots already financed by reducing the timing of the works also in the perspective of the construction of the bridge over the Strait of Messina. Infrastructures like these, inserted in a larger development plan of the road network, relevance for the safety of the circulation of citizens and freight traffic “.
