Cgil, Cisl and Uil Calabria, together with the respective categories Slc Cgil, Fistel Cisl and Uilcom Uil, in a note, express «their determination to decisively continue the discussion with the regional and national institutions to find a definitive solution to the dispute involving the workers of Abramo Customer Care. The situation, which has long been at the center of a complex process, – it should be noted – involves hundreds of workers whose employment future hangs by a thread. In the last few hours, the trade union organizations – it is written – participated in two meetings with the President of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiutoduring which a path of actions to address and resolve the difficult situation was illustrated. We have always believed that the involvement of the institutions and all the actors involved is essential to build a rapid, shared resolution process focused on the protection of workers’ rights. Today – the unions continue – an innovative approach is needed to find a concrete solution. One of the innovative proposals that emerged concerns the use of Abramo Customer Care workers in the process of dematerialisation of medical records and their integration into electronic health records, a strategic activity for the improvement of regional health services”. This measure, in the opinion of the unions, “would not only enhance the skills of workers, but would guarantee a concrete contribution to the digitalisation of the Calabrian healthcare system, making services more efficient and accessible to citizens”. Furthermore, “the idea of including these operators in the Dunamis path, taking advantage of employment incentives, represents a concrete opportunity to offer job stability and to promote the integration of these resources into the productive fabric of the region”.

For his part, it is known, «lThe Calabria Region has already made an important commitment, allocating 15 million euros of community funds to support the retraining and re-employment initiatives of the workers involved. These resources – it is written – represent a fundamental basis for economically supporting the planned actions and ensuring that the proposed solutions are economically sustainable and long-term. Despite the Region’s commitment, comparison at a national level remains fundamental – underline CGIL, CISL and UIL. We trust that, on the occasion of the discussion table convened by MIMIT (Ministry of Business and Made in Italy) for next November 6th, decisive steps forward can be made. It is essential that, at that time, no further obstacles are placed in the way by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and the commissioners involved in the process, as any delay or impediment would risk compromising the employment future of Abramo’s workers Customer Care. The meeting on 6 November represents a fundamental opportunity to define a shared and operational path, avoiding any possible problem that could slow down the adoption of support and stability measures for workers. The responsibility of Mimit and the role of the commissioners – it is written – are crucial and, for this reason, we ask that the commissioners and the Ministry participate with determination and pragmatism at the table, giving priority to solutions in favor of workers and the Calabrian community”.

CGIL, CISL and UIL Calabria, together with their respective categories, «reaffirm their commitment to carrying forward this battle to protect the workers of Abramo Customer Care. We are ready to collaborate with the institutions and with the company – they say – to define an overall solution that not only responds to the needs of work continuity, but also represents an investment in the future of Calabria and its production fabric. We will continue to carefully monitor the ‘evolution of the situation, maintaining high – it is finally written – attention to the needs of workers and their families and aiming for a resolution that safeguards the right to work and professional dignity”.
