A nine-hour long emotion. The examination was an incredible journey, an interminable journey, sometimes noisy and other more silent, through different worlds. Each neighborhood of Montalto gave its own response by drawing diagrams which, at a certain point, were similar to crazy paths between climbs and nosedives. Only in the closing credits did a verdict arrive which at 2.15pm seemed impossible because Biagio Faragalli was already on the run with 63%. Then, the comeback of Mauro D'Acri who, ballot after ballot, won the ballot. The challenge ended 49.06% to 42.43%. Emilio Viafora remains out (8.51%), but his performance was, however, notable also considering the fact that he ran with only one list in support. Now he will become the tipping point in the two-way challenge scheduled in fifteen days. Montalto Uffugo will return to the polls on June 23 and 24 for the final choice. One of Faragalli or D'Acri will lead the Municipality for the next five years. A ballot that reignites the political climate and restarts, from today, an even tougher, more delicate and full of surprises match.
