A group of 204 Italian high school students involved in the “Ambassadors of the Future” project of the World Student Connection association is stuck in Dubai, due to the closure of airspace linked to the conflict in Iran. Among them – reports the Corriere del Veneto website – there are young people from Veneto, including a 16-year-old who attends the “Calvi” technical-commercial institute in Padua.
«My son was supposed to land in Milan on March 1st at nine in the morning – says his mother – and instead we don’t know when he will return. The kids are followed by tutors and this reassures us. But we are worried.” According to what was reported to the families, the students are placed in hotels awaiting the rescheduling of their return flights. The Italian group was supposed to return tomorrow, but the departure was postponed to March 3. The WSC program involves the diplomatic simulation of the work of the UN and brings together teenagers and university students of different nationalities.
