The exhibition “Woman – The essence of bodies in bloom” by the Cosenza artist and designer Luigia Granata was inaugurated this afternoon in the Sala del Cenacolo of the Vicolo Valdina Complex at the Chamber of Deputies.
The event was attended by the vice president of the Chamber Sergio Costa and the deputy Anna Laura Orrico, former undersecretary of state for culture, promoters of the initiative, together with the art historian Anna Cipparrone.
A journey between art, identity and memory
Granata, an internationally renowned artist and designer, is the creator of the concept of “cultural dress” and has been committed for years to enhancing territorial identity through art and fashion. His works and collections have been exhibited in Italy and abroad, in prestigious cultural and institutional contexts such as the Venice Biennale and Expo Milan.
The exhibition proposes an artistic journey dedicated to the representation of women as identity, memory and conscience of the world, intertwining expressive languages, social reflection and cultural roots.
The statements
«Luigia Granata is a local excellence – states Anna Laura Orrico – an artist who tells the essence of Calabria through an identifying and innovative language. This exhibition is a journey into the soul of women, in their deepest, most painful and authentic facets. It is an ode to their strength and courage.”
«Woman expresses a strong message – underlines Luigia Granata – which starts from afar, built over a thirty-year career, and represents the narration of the female dimension in all its facets. The most important discovery is that respect for women starts from themselves: they must follow their own authenticity and pursue their dreams.”
