Rail traffic on the Salerno – Paola line is severely slowed down in the section between Salerno and Battipaglia due to damage caused by bad weatheror that is affecting the area. The management of circulation, we read in a note, proceeds on a single track with a reduction in speed, therefore Intercity, AV and Regional trains may register cancellations, route reductions and an extension of travel times of up to 60 minutes.
Due to the flooding of the Battipaglia underpass, all trains will provide passenger service only on the first track. The technicians of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana are currently working to restore normal circulation conditions.
