After the bad weather which also caused damage to the city, the acting mayor Domenico Battaglia took stock of the interventions underway to restore the affected areas.
Columns of Tresoldi and seafront
«As regards the Tresoldi columns, which have caused so much discussion – he explained – the Culture sector has already contacted the director of works, who will be in Reggio next week to carry out an initial inspection».
Damage was also reported to the pavement of the seafront, particularly near the Arena. «We are proceeding with the collection of the cobblestones to make them safe and we have contacted the supplier company to evaluate the replacement of the missing ones», he added.
Interventions on the coast and refreshments
In recent days, through the extremely urgent procedure, works have been started on the coast of Pellaro, Bocale and Pettogallico, where the most serious critical issues were recorded.
«As the affected Municipality, together with the other centers of Calabria – concluded Battaglia – we will make up for it through the compensation provided by the Government through the platforms of the Region and Civil Protection. The important thing is to guarantee the safety of citizens in the face of a devastating and unprecedented fury, but it is equally fundamental to strengthen prevention, considering that events like these are multiplying.”
