Green light yesterday by the Calabrò junta to the approval of the executive project aimed at activating a new well, very precious for the water supply of the hilly fractions and for the entire city system. This is the “Nuovo Prague” well, which will be created thanks to a first functional excerpt from a much wider and more organic project drawn up by the engineer Iolanda Maria Rita Mandanici, official of the technical sector. In particular, in the Maloto district, in the vicinity of a previous municipal well damaged by a landslide, at the cost of just over 200 thousand euros, another will be excavated and activated which is estimated in itself an average flow rate of about 1,000 liters per minute. Moreover, via the fitting with the Silipigni source, the flow should reach 1250 liters. Thanks to this new amount of water introduced into the “fall” network, two objectives will be made: on the one hand a greater supply for the hamlets of Maloto, Gala and Cannistrà and on the other a less burdensome use than the well located more downstream, near the two mills. In fact, it does not escape anyone that the enhancement and rationalization of the water network are synonyms and that in a city like Barcelona, which receives a good part of the water for falling from hills, its own as other municipalities, having more efficient wells and pipes also involves excellent energy and financial savings.
