At Palazzo Longano autumn promises to be warm. Not only for defaulting taxpayers and for those who are still unknown to the tax registry, who will undergo new collection actions as the Municipality intends to avoid the requirements. Difficulties will also be there for the Municipality that for years has lived under the pressure of the financial instability that until now cannot be brought back. The hypothesis of a stably rebalanced budget – the finish line to which they look at the mayor and junta – still appears far away. Despite the commitment and mobilization of the staff of the Financial Office led by the manager Antonella Truglio, the picture remains complicated. There are no resources, the staff is reduced to the bone and the nodes accumulated over the years continue to weigh as boulders. For this reason, the mayor Pinuccio Calabrò, together with the new councilor for the Easter Budget, has decided to retrace a road already beaten: asking for the help of external experts. Already in 2024 the Municipality had entrusted an assignment to the company “Centro Studi Sud Sud” of Catania, for an amount of 31,500 euros, with the aim of supporting the offices in the reinforcement of the residues, in the management of the tied cassa and in the drafting of a first draft budget.
