“Discuss No tax area for young people”
Bombardieri then stated that «the no tax area for young people in the South is an idea already advanced by Uil in Calabria. We could think about reducing the weight of Irpef for those under 35 as a tool to counter the flight of young people from the South. It could be an incentive because it is obvious that wages are what they are and above all it is necessary to encourage young people to stay here in Calabria and in the South. Alongside these measures – added Bombardieri – we need investments and we need to really look at the employment data in Calabria. “Critical situation due to the cost of living”
Bombardieri also highlighted that «we are experiencing a truly critical situation in terms of work and cost of living. It is above all young people, employees and pensioners who pay the most. We must guarantee – he added – regular contract renewals and mechanisms capable of recovering lost purchasing power. The dialogue and discussion with Confindustria and other employers’ associations is continuing, but the positions still remain distant on the issue of wages and salaries.
