Yesterday morning, September 15, the carabinieri of the Caccuri station, with the support of the highly specialized staff of the Sio of the 14th Carabinieri battalion “Calabria”, carried out an extraordinary service of control of the territory aimed at contrasting the drug dealing.
The activity, conducted in close synergy with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Crotone directed by the prosecutor Domenico Guarascio, has made it possible to identify and seize several considerable cannabis plants, as well as modest quantities of marijuana already packaged and ready for consumption. The substances were found inside and in the appliances of two homes located in the inhabited center of Caccuri.
During the operations, a 48 -year -old of the place was reported in a state of freedom for illegal possession of drugs. In his home, the military discovered two Indian hemp plants, one of which over two meters high, and a glass jar containing about 12 grams of marijuana.
Today’s operation testifies to the constant commitment of the Carabinieri weapon in contrasting traffic and drug dealing, a phenomenon that represents a serious threat to public health and, in particular, for the youngest.
The device put in place, which saw the carabinieri of the Caccuri station and the Sio of the 14th “Calabria” battalion operated jointly, guaranteed a capillary and high visibility control in the area, strengthening the prevention action and ensuring a prompt response to the security needs of the community.
