The Caccuri Literary Prize comes to life, now launched towards the final evening. Tonight’s program (9pm, Piazza del Convento, hosted by Savino Zaba) tells the story well of the soul of the event, which since 2012 has intertwined economics, literature, international politics, information and memory of the territories. We will start with Carlo Cottarelli and his «The easy economy» (Solferino), interviewed by Daniela Tagliafico; then the Gazzetta journalist Anna Mallamo will present her award-winning novel «Col cuore me la vedo io» (Einaudi), set in Calabria in the 80s, in dialogue with Cinzia Calizzi. But at the center of the debate – in the most authentic spirit of the award – also the great global scenarios, with the ambassador Elisabetta Belloni, interviewed by Adele Grossi on the topic of international law between wars, security, energy and economic crises, with a suggestive title: «Of the stone and the sling or of international law?». Then there will be space for reflection on the future of the media in the digital age with the publisher Domenico Maduli, interviewed by Paolo Di Giannantonio and Raffaele Genah, and finally the poet “paesologist” Franco Arminio will dialogue with Andrea Di Consoli on countries, depopulation and memory. Finally the show by Ubaldo Pantani.

In recent days the Castle hosted the awarding of honorary citizenship to the director general of Rai Roberto Sergio, and dialogues with writers and scholars, as well as the highly acclaimed concert by Leo Gassman. Tomorrow, hosted by Gianluigi Nuzzi and Laura Freddi (like the final evening), it will be Nicola Gratteri’s turn with «Blood Cartels. The routes of drug trafficking” (Mondadori), written with Antonio Nicaso, by Andrea Di Consoli on the centenary of the Nobel Prize to Grazia Deledda, and by two medical luminaries: Alfonso Agnino who will talk about “AI and medicine” and Massimo Massetti with his book (written together with Alfonso Dell’Erario, Cairo editions) “His Majesty the heart”. Finally Maurizio Ferrini and Giovanni Fabiano in «La Signora Coriandoli. A woman in fuchsia”, and the comedy of Gabriele Cirilli. But the grand finale will be on Monday with the four finalist books of the Prize: «The children of hatred» (Mondadori) by Cecilia Sala, «Solo amore. Notes for a manifesto in defense of animals” (PaperFirst) by Luca Somma, “U Maxi” (Feltrinelli) by Pietro Grasso and “The Reasons of Judas” (Rizzoli) by Tommaso Cerno. The evening will end with the show of the Gemelli di Guidonia.
