The mayor Federico Basile firmly condemns the barbaric gesture against the dog found dead in a suitcase in contesses.
“The episode occurred in Contensses is an unacceptable act of cruelty that offends the conscience of our community. The violence suffered by a defenseless animal does not represent only a dehuman gesture, but a wound for all of us citizens. On behalf of the municipal administration I express the most firm condemnation and we guarantee that we will be at the side of the law enforcement. Life and respect for animals, values that cannot be questioned.
The Councilor for Civil Protection and Wellness of the Animals, Massimiliano Minutoli, added:
“What happened represents a barbarism that Messina cannot accept. We will always be on the front line to defend the weakest and contrast any form of mistreatment, guaranteeing maximum support for law enforcement and associations that operate daily on the territory. The commitment of each of us is needed to affirm a culture of respect and protection of animals”.
