A group of Calabrian citizens has released an appeal in view of the election campaign for the regional ones, expressing dissatisfaction with the progress of political competition. “Calabria deserves a guide capable of listening to the territories, returning dignity to citizens and breaking with the old patterns that have been suffocating our land for too long,” the promoters write.

According to the group, the start of the electoral campaign proposes logic far away from the real problems of the people, dominated by palace interests and political transversalisms. For this reason, citizens have chosen to support Flavio Stasi’s candidacy for the presidency of the Calabria Region, considering it “the most authentic, courageous and credible”.

Stasi, mayor of Corigliano-Rossano, is described as an administrator close to the communities, capable of demonstrating that “politics can return to being service, vision and collective commitment”. His candidacy, underline the signatories of the appeal, “is not that of a single, but the hope of an entire Calabria who wants to change”.

The invitation is addressed to towns and citizens, associations, workers and workers, young and old, to join in a challenge that, according to the promoters, goes beyond the individual candidate. The goal is to build a region “free from clientele and old logic of power, attentive to social rights, work, public health and the environment, capable of investing in the energies of the Calabrians who do not give up”.

“Calabria – concludes the appeal – does not need empty promises, but of courage, competence and participation. For a Calabria that resumes its future ».
