Calabria will be present with two films at Locarno Festival to be held in Switzerland from 6 to 16 August, “The Gospel of Judas”directed by Giulio Base, out of competition in the Swiss event and “I don’t leave you alone “by Fabrizio Cattani, included in the “Locarno Kids” section of the Festival.
Another excellent showcase for cinema supported by Calabria Film Commission and shot on our territory, with the promotion of places and the use of Calabrian workers, 106, overall in the two films.
“The Gospel of Judah” produced by Agnus dei Production, Minerva Picturese and Rai Cinema, in co -production with Agresywna Banda, was shot for four weeks in the territories of the municipalities of Curinga (Platano Millenary), Corigliano – Rossano (Abbey of the Patere), Cleto (Castello Cleto, Savuto Castle, River Savuto), Sila National Park (Lago Cecita), Caccuria del Caccuria. Vurdoj, Rupestri Caccuri caves), Mendicino (Monte Cocuzzo), Cosenza (Castello Svevo, historic center). 71 Calabrian professionals involved in filming.
The cast is made up of internationally renowned interpreters of the caliber of Giancarlo Giannini, Rupert Everett, Tomasz Kot, Paz Vega, Abel Ferrara, Vincenzo Galluzzo, Ada Roncone and with Darko Peric and John Savage.
“I do not leave you alone”, however, the new film by Fabrizio Cattani (Materity Blues, a chronicle of a passion), based on the novel of the same name by Gianluca Antoni published by Salani, is produced by Gianluca Curti, Emanuele Nespeca, Elisabetta Olmi and Tilde Corsi, boasts the direction of the photography of the David di Donatello, Fabio Olmi (the profession of Armi, Basilicata Coast to Coast to coast), the editing of Paola Freddi (Another End, Iddu) and the soundtrack of Luca D’Alberto (the alphabet of Peter Greenway, the choice). It is an exciting and passionate film, capable of playing on the edge of different genres: like a modern fairy tale, the story takes place in an pressing and unexpected way, dyeing what seems like a classic Coming-Of-age of the fascinating colors of the noir.
The filming of “I do not leave you alone” took place for 4 weeks in Calabria between Camiglitello Silano and the municipalities of Spezzano, Celico, San Young In Fiore, Rende, Castrolibero and Cosenza. The production is edited by Minerva Pictures, Solaria Film, Hypothesis Cinema and RC Production. The troupe worked 35 out of 50 Calabrian units that composed the team.
