The Municipality of Lamezia Terme opened the construction site for the construction of the ex Sir of Lamezia Terme in the industrial area, within the service center for businesses, of the project Calabria Food & Tourism Academypromoted in collaboration with Lameziaeuropa and Federalberghi Calabria and financed in May 2022, together with 11 other projects, by the Calabria Region Tourism Department for 1.5 million euros with national funds, equal to about 12 million euros, claims from the territorial pacts. We are quickly proceeding with the renovation and plant engineering works, while the purchase and assembly of machinery and equipment is expected shortly. The completion of the work and the start of the activities are provided by June 2025.
The main interventions envisaged by the project concern in particular: the complete functional renovation of the operational spaces 750 square meters; the realization of 15 schools high school training school identity; the realization of 15 school and ice cream school stake stations; the realization of 15 school stations and pizza chefs; Multimedia meeting room setting up, co-working room, B2B room, Relax reading room, direction; arrangement and usability of the outdoor spaces.
The goal is to create a multidimensional center aimed at enhancing the industry of taste and regional food and wine tourism. The Center, in a logic of Academy, in close interrelation with the activities of the Service Center and in the context of the Extraordinary Calabria Regional container, is a candidate to become a place of training, experimentation and construction of a food and wine offer of quality capable to enhance the best regional experiences in order to define qualitative standards, methodologies and operating routines at the service of the Ho.Re.Ca., territories and communities operators of regional food.
The president and manager of Lameziaeuropa SpA Leopoldo Chieffallo and Tullio Rispoli and the president and director of Federalberghi Calabria Fabrizio D’Agostino and Francesco Perino express appreciation for the landing of the loan and the start of the construction site by the Municipality of Lamezia Terme and the construction phase already particularly advanced thanks to the organizational capacity of the Lametina Edil three executer of the works and of the workers engaged in the execution of the works directed by the arch. Bruno Aloisio. All this is the result of the commitment made by the mayor Paolo Mascaro, by the councilor for tourism Luisa Vaccaro, by the manager of the management and enhancement of the heritage and the municipal territory Pasqualino Nicotera and by the managers Dorota luszczyk and Gabriele nail aimed at completing the administrative procedures related to the loan granted and which had led to the signing of the agreement between the Municipality of Lamezia Terme beneficiary of the loan and the tourism, territorial marketing and mobility of the Calabria Region in March 2023 and in February 2024 to acquisition of the portion of the property object of the intervention.
In the next few days, on the occasion of the meeting of the ordinary shareholders’ meeting of Lameziaeuropa shareholders, an operating inspection is scheduled within the construction site in the presence of the mayor of Lamezia Terme.
