The Council of the Calabria Region, in today’s session, on the proposal of President Roberto Occhiuto, approved two important acts on transport. The first concerns the adoption of the update of the regional transport plan and the environmental report and completion of the strategic environmental assessment procedures, applied to the update of the Plan.

Territorial Continuity: Crotone-Fiumicino flights

With the other resolution, guidance is given to identify the necessary resources, estimated at approximately 4.6 million euros, to ensure the continuation for a further year beyond October 2026 of the air connections between Crotone and Fiumicino airports, with public compensation (under the public service obligations regime).

New Addresses for Service Conferences and RUR

Again on the indication of President Occhiuto, to update the provisions to the new organizational structure of the regional Administration, the Council then approved the operational guidelines for the management of the Service Conferences involving the regional offices; the methods for identifying the Single Regional Representative (Rur) have also been established.

The document also regulates the activation of the internal “decision-making meeting”, as an organizational tool to guarantee coordination and a unitary regional position between the various structures involved.

Sustainability Education and Green Economy in Schools

Finally, the Council, on the joint recommendation of the Councilor for the Environment, Antonio Montuoro, and the Councilor for Economic Development and Work, Giovanni Calabrese, approved a resolution to promote education for environmental sustainability in Calabrian schools.

The provision provides for the start of an institutional collaboration with the regional school office to define programs dedicated to the circular economy and the protection of ecosystems. The initiative is part of the *Greening Education Partnership* and supports membership of the international Eco-Schools programme.

Finally, the resolution identifies the Labor and Environmental Sustainability departments as the competent structures for coordinating the activities.
