Calabria, the examination of the reform proposal fails in the Transport Commission

The discussion of the proposed law to update the Regional Transport Plan (PRT) and the contemporary reform of local public transport (TPL) was postponed in the IV “Transport” Commission, while the “Discipline of Local Public Transport services” was approved by a majority. For the first measure, yesterday was a day of hearings and the president Sergio Ferrari asked the summoned subjects for further contributions to enrich a text which «we intend – Ferrari himself hoped – to approve within the next week. We listened to everyone: employers’, trade and trade associations; the territory, inviting Anci and Upi. It is the fourth time, with today, that we have come to the Commission to discuss and explore the regional transport plan through the broadest inclusiveness. Although it is urgent, we did not consider proceeding without discussion and we have accepted all the contributions that came from the subjects audited. For the capital cities, only representatives of the mayors of Reggio Calabria and Crotone were present. Precisely because of my political experience I am very respectful of mayors and provincial presidents. But it is clear and evident that we must still continue with the activities.”
