Francesco Toscano, leader in Calabria of the Sovereign and Popular Democracy Party, is ready for the challenge for the regional ones as a candidate for the presidency. It starts from a program that focuses on “a sovereign Calabria, which takes care of, who works, who resists”. What differentiates from other parties?
“We believe that ours is the only one able to make a precise analysis of Italian and Calabrian politics of the last thirty years. We explain what the limits of this policy are, aiming to restore the concept of popular sovereignty that we believe has been betrayed by the EU membership that prevents its full exercise. If the country is in a disastrous situation, Calabria is a multiplier of these difficulties. We think about health that in the north was a point of excellence and now it is struggling. In this context in Calabria, in fact, the right to health no longer exists ».
When did the relationship with Marco Rizzo come about?
«We founded together sovereign and popular democracy in January 2024. Our relationship was welded during the period of the Lockdown to counter the policies of the count and dragons in the Covid era. Rizzo immediately recognized how the measures like the green pass were non -slip and crazy. And I also considered them such ».
You introduce yourself outside the two traditional sides.
«We try to convince citizens of the goodness of our proposals starting from some aspects. There is the total failure of the center -right and center -left coalitions that have alternated in the last 30 years. We think of health, viability, transport, occupation, sectors that record backwards regardless regardless of the color of governments. In this scenario the politicians in the institutions are mere executors of decisions that are made elsewhere. Rather than contrasting the Tridic or Occhiuto policies, we try to warn citizens, highlighting that they are figures. They can’t change things even if they wanted it. Compared to this picture, politics must rebel against non -representative power “.
