Yesterday afternoon, the carabinieri of the company of Sant’Agata di Militello performed an order of house arrest with an electronic bracelet against a 24 -year -old foreign citizen, held responsible for the crime of aggravated theft. The provision was issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Patti, Ugo Molina, on the compliant request of the Public Prosecutor of Patti, led by the prosecutor Angelo Cavallo.
The ordinance originates from an investigative activity conducted by the military of the weapon, coordinated by the Prosecutor, who made it possible to collect serious indications of guilt against the young man in relation to a theft that took place on 11 July in Capo d’Orlando.
According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri, the suspect would unhinge a window to introduce himself to the offices of a local television station, taking away about 150 euros in cash and two cell phones complete with SIM. The investigations were also supported by the video surveillance systems in the area, which have made it possible to document the dynamics of the crime and to identify the suspect.
In light of the serious clues collected, the investigating judge of the Patti court ordered house arrest with an electronic bracelet, a precautionary measure carried out yesterday by the carabinieri. The young man is now under electronic control, pending further phases of the judicial procedure.
