Today, in the prison of Castrovillaria inmate started a fire which produced a heavy cloud of smokewhich made it necessary to evacuate two detention sections. It seems that the prisoner, according to what Giovanni Battista Durante, deputy general secretary of Sappe and Francesco Ciccone, regional secretary, say, tried to inciting other inmates to cause disturbances within the institution.
The prison police personnel intervened wearing gas masks. One officer was taken to the emergency room, others were examined inside the prison.
