The Imam will thus be able to celebrate the two collective prayers on the occasion of the Islamic holidays (the Finger Festa Ramadan and the Sacrifice Festival), the Friday Sermon (collective prayer of the Jumùa), and the five daily prayers.
“Our community – says Cuda – hosts many people of Islamic religion and this space, who will soon be inaugurated, will be made to their complete disposal for prayers and to also guarantee an interreligious dialogue. It is a sign of inclusion by the Magna Graecia University which, once again, shows with the facts the attention to the needs of students and the university population “.
The “Dar Assalam” association is written in the note, “expresses gratitude towards the rector of the UMG on behalf of the whole Muslim community for such an important gesture, of great humanity and sensitivity that will allow students and professionals, as well as the degents and their loved ones, of Muslim faith to have a place, granted on free loan of use, in which to be able to pray and find comfort”. Carioti, who in the past – before conversion – attended the clinical structure as a patient, remembering that he had used the chapel already present, underlines how important this initiative is. “Even today, from Muslim – he said – I could access as a patient and pray according to my belief and this is a sign of great growth and inclusion”.
Several members of the Association, who from professionals and students attend the UMG and the headquarters of the Hospital-University “Renato Dulbecco” have declared themselves “proud, by Catanzaro and Muslims, to be part of such a avant-garde reality: the first university throughout Italy to have created a place of worship for Muslim faith and the fourth to provide a space for confessions”.
